Technology in the Private Equity Sector

Traditionally private equity firms have been known for their conservative approach to technology, but in recent years, they have embraced modern technologies in their office fit outs. From state-of-the-art video conferencing systems to cutting-edge collaboration tools, these firms use technology to streamline their operations and stay ahead of the competition.

MiX has carried out several fit out and refurbishment projects for private equity firms in London and Dublin ranging in size from 39,000 ft2 to 80,000 ft2 delivering the IT Project Management, IT Infrastructure, AV, Physical Security, and SMART workstreams. Our team noticed that the pandemic escalated these firms’ early adoption of technology.

A few examples of how these firms are making technology work for them are:

– From an infrastructure perspective, firms are increasing the number of outlets to future-proof.
– In terms of security, these firms are embracing touchless and sensor technology.
– Private Equity firms were some of the first adopters globally to switch from traditional handsets and move to Microsoft Teams and similar technologies.

The embrace of modern technology in private equity firms is a positive step forward for the industry. It is helping private equity firms work more efficiently and stay connected with their clients and investors.

It’s an exciting time in the private equity market, and our Project Director, Daniel Thorneycroft, has been involved in many of the projects MiX has undertaken in this sector.
